And in a typically related matter, Microsoft are again at odds with the courts that dare to chastise them: faced with an order to disclose details of their proprietary protocols, the Redmond Rodents have done so - but in a new format only their dubious Internet Explorer can understand.

And it seems Ed Fenton can laugh today: the technology used by snake oil salesmen in the copy protected CD market is the property of a company other than Microsoft.
