Sweden's First Banana Republic PartyFolk fest in the old town 2 July.
STOCKHOLM (Radsoft) -- Rick Falkvinge of Sweden's Pirate Party is organising the country's first 'banana republic fest'.
'To have the strength to keep fighting Lex Orwell and to show people we demand democracy day in and day out we have to have fun too', writes Falkvinge on his blog.
This is going to be the first in a series of parties, says Falkvinge. The first party will be on Wednesday 2 July at Mynttorget in Stockholm's old town between the hours of 15:00 and 19:00.
Samba!
'We're going to have a samba band', writes Falkvinge. 'We're also going to pass out bananas!'
'And we're going to keep this up', says Falkvinge. 'We shall never be silenced.'
How to Get There
Obviously you have to be in Stockholm to begin with. Mynttorget's in Stockholm's old town near the riksdagen, the national bank, and the royal castle. You can take the subway to the central station and walk across the Vasa bridge; you can take the subway further to the old town stop and walk through the old town; you can also take a bus from the central station towards Fredsgatan and that will leave you even closer.
Bring a sombrero and get ready to party!
