29 Reasons to Not Get Vista

Microsoft Windows Vista hits (assaults) consumers on 30 January 2007. Starting with New Years Day that gives you twenty nine days to think about the big mistake you're about to make.

Every day of January 2007 until Microsoft Windows Vista is released you can read yet another good reason why it's not a good idea to get it.

4 January 2007 Reason #4: It's Dangerous.

Microsoft Windows is the most dangerous software product ever made. It's crippled battleships at sea. It's almost killed diplomats in automobiles powered by it. And it's singularly responsible for all the woes and miseries of the Internet today.

Without Microsoft you wouldn't have spam to speak of - you couldn't have it. The age old technique of hitting open relays is more and more gone: today you have to infect someone's Windows computer to have a chance.

And all the worm outbreaks and the constant incessant Internet traffic that's just sucking up the bandwidth for everyone everywhere that's caused by infected Windows computers - remove Windows from the Internet and the web will probably run about ten times faster. Seriously.

A common misconception is that all these evil black hats are attacking people - they're not: they're attacking Windows. Replace Windows with any other system on the 900+ million PCs worldwide and it's all over. No more trojans, viruses, worm outbreaks - nothing.

Microsoft have turned a nice little academic project today called the Internet into a ghetto warzone. Microsoft have all but destroyed what's supposed to be a 'Good Thing'.

They've ruined the neighbourhood. And let it become a very dangerous neighbourhood.
