Blobview

A black art: the art of figuring out what an application is going to do (and how well it's going to do it) before it does it. Originally designed as a bloat detector - kind of yardstick for general software engineering quality - Blobview today can be used to find out almost anything about an executable image. It's an especially useful analysis tool for system administrators who must approve (or reject) efforts from a systems development department or an external (online) software vendor: you see immediately if the software development team gave you the right type of executable or not, how much junk they left inside, whether there will be issues trying to run the program, etc.

Blobview, the system administrator's software analysis tool, can export its findings in a rather sophisticated text file format suitable for printing so system administrators can negotiate better with suppliers.

Blobview is naturally a good tool for development teams too - they can see what their clients are going to see and correct engineering mistakes before they sneak out the door.
