Hmmm.  Your research may stir up the wrath of John McAfee if you 
focus on both (a) ZoneAlarm's inabilities and (b) Gibson's 
inability to realize it. However, Delio's involvement may keep him 
off your tail.

I suspect ZoneAlarm will stall you for as long as they can so they 
can study the hole.  No big deal -- time is on YOUR side, not 
theirs.  And yes, I do think you took the better path here.  From a 
PR perspective, I suggest you write a vulnerability report to 
'alert' ZA users about the 'urgent' need to update.  Also, think 
about co-opting Gibson's fanatics.  They fear raw sockets, so urge 
them to run LaBrea in an effort to save the Internet from a fate 
worse than death.

Let me ponder it some more on my flight home Thursday.  Gotta catch 
some sleep-eye...
