Turning to dust? Walls coming down? Agent Cooper?

Microsoft have published an update to their previous list of apps broken under XPSP2.

And the list is long. It may very well be one of the longest lists in the history of Microsoft lists. Maybe.

Radsoft may have counted as many as 200 major applications that may be on this list.

The list may include two famous games from Westwood (Command & Conquer Red Alert 1 & 2), Yahoo Instant Messenger, ZoneAlarm, Norton Antivirus, Norton Systemworks, Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition, Ghost, Real Player, McAfee Remote Desktop, McAfee VirusScan, ColdFusion, Kerio Personal Firewall, WinRoute, ICQ Pro, Encyclopaedia Brittanica, F-secure, programs from Lucas Arts, HP, IBM, Computer Associates, Claris, WordPerfect, Atari, Adobe, Activision - and about fifty (50) of Microsoft's own.

There's the old adage that an operating system without applications is not an operating system - because no one will use it. Microsoft's strength has always been the hundreds of thousands of applications available for Windows.

Now, plumb out of nowhere, they break everything - and their own flagship apps too.

Does Special Agent Cooper need to return to the far Northwest?
