Apple Do It Again

Hardly a month since their latest round of scandals, Apple are wiping egg off face once more.

You have to pinch yourself to make sure you're not having a nightmare: Apple with their fabulous Unix-based OS X going through the same conundrums Windows users do every day.

Following a lead from an independent developer Rixstep have published a 'proof of concept' package that shows how wide open Apple's 'rock solid foundation' really is.

Any code at all with no privilege escalation whatsoever is able to 'get root' - and on a Unix box that's the ultimate goal: with 'root' the bad guys can do whatever they want.

It's open season on the Cupertino crybabies again.
