Yeah, I've known that it would not be any trouble to find you.

Did you notice that I DELIBERATELY left your NAME completely out of the
story? I could have *easily* slipped that in there, as just one of the
additional facts that I had gathered. But I didn't, because I worried that
it might be too possible for someone out in the analog world to read the
story and put two and two together ... and I had no interest in getting you
in trouble after we had made peace.

Now, of course, that peace is threatened. But with your notes today it
sounds like perhaps we will be able to recover from this, which is good.

I have NO DOUBT that you're a smart kid Mike. None. No doubt. But you
know that there are many others who have that Bot -- and are running
smaller armies of Bots -- who are *exactly* what I described. This was the
MAIN message that my page has managed to 'get across' so well ... and
that's it's important message.

If we had it to do all over again, I guess we could have used a different
hacker alias -- like 'Twisted' instead of 'Wicked' -- that way we could
have also protected your hacker alias from what I wrote. But you posted a
number of times into the newsgroups as Wicked -- so my changing the handle
would have been instantly detected by everyone there.

Remember that I told you several notes ago that I was WORRIED that you were
going to be upset by what I wrote, but that I HAD to report the facts
rather than your claims. That's one of the reasons why I asked Boss about
the source of your Bot ... and he CONFIRMED that you hadn't written it and
that you had gotten in from his.

You're *right* that I do NOT know that you can not code. But I have
ABSOLUTELY no evidence that you can. And coding is NOT a prerequisite to
the use of those Bots. And I have caught you in what appear to be a few
lies or exaggerations, so I have HAD to fall back on the facts that I could
verify.

I've noticed that when you get cornered you tend to generate 'jargon and
buzzwords' which impress and confuse people. But I still don't think that
you really 'get it' about how technically competent I am. So when you spin
all the stuff that impresses your parents and teachers and other hackers I
just shrug my shoulders and wait for you to calm down.

Anyway, it's true that I still don't really have a perfect idea of who you
are -- I probably never will -- but I wish you no ill. As I've told you
before, the evidence suggests that you're a super smart kid who wants to be
able to more than he's able to right now. So I keep getting the sense that
you exaggerate the truth when you want to be more than you are. But I have
NO doubt that you have the ability to become that person you want to be.

I just think you're a bit impatient and you want to be there now. Nothing
wrong with that. <g>
