Bummer!

I fired up iChat and I tried connecting with myself. Guess what? Oh well.

iChat requires a .Mac account. Connecting with all those hotties on AIM costs $100 per annum. Ouch.

Sherlock is actually rather fantastic, once you've connected to the net. You can send 'secret' messages in a foreign language, like Simplified Chinese; their Apple Mail will correctly render them; just paste them back into Sherlock and voila - it actually works, and gives you a decent translation back again.
